GARY
SHOOTER :: SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR
B.Sc. (Griffith Uni), B.Sc. Hons (Griffith Uni),
Ph.D. (Biochemistry, Adelaide Uni)
Dr Shooter is a Research Fellow within the Tissue Bioregeneration and Integration program at QUT. He has a diverse range of interests in structural biology and the study of protein-protein interactions stemming from his PhD project within the CRC for Tissue Growth and Repair, Adelaide University.
Having worked in several biotechnology companies he has a strong
background in the manufacture of recombinant
and naturally-derived protein products. His technical expertise
in protein chemistry
covers areas including: molecular modelling,
protein purification and characterisation, mass spectrometry based
proteomics and the
development of sustained release delivery formulations.
One
of Dr Shooter’s goals is to further elucidate the structure-function
relationships of vitronectin including the production and characterisation
of truncated and chimeric analogues of recombinant vitronectin.
